Abstract:Objective? To explore the nursing needs of patients with lower limb fracture fixed with gypsum and the effect of nursing intervention. Methods The patients with lower limb fracture treated by gypsum fixation in Guangzhou Zhenggu Hospital from January 5th to December 20th 2018 were selected. A total of 400 cases admitted from January 5th to June 5th as control group were given routine nursing care, and 520 cases admitted from June 20th to December 20th as observation group were treated with targeted nursing measures after understanding the nursing needs of patients. The rate of gypsum breakage, incidence of complications and nursing satisfaction between the two groups were compared. Results The breakage rate of gypsum in the observation group was 31.15%, which was significantly higher than 46.00% in the control group(χ2=21.237, P<0.05). The total incidence of complications in the observation group was 0.58%, which was significantly lower than that in the control group(9.00%)(χ2=39.514, P<0.05). The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was 95.96%, which was significantly higher than 79.75% of the control group(χ2=60.276, P<0.05). Conclusion Understanding the nursing needs of patients and giving targeted nursing measures can improve the nursing satisfaction of patients with lower limb fracture treated with gypsum fixation, and reduce the rate of gypsum breakage and complications, which is worthy of promotion.
