A Comparative Study of Ultrasonography in Gouty Arthritis with Chronic Nephropathy and Simple Gouty Arthritis
HE Yumin
Abstract:Objective? To compare the ultrasonographic features of simple gouty arthritis (GA) and gouty arthritis (GCKD) with chronic nephropathy. Methods? A total of 165 gout patients admitted to our hospital from 2016 to 2019 were retrospectively collected. After 24 cases of unqualified cases were excluded, 82 cases were divided into GA group and 59 cases into GCKD group according to the presence of renal damage. The knee joint, ankle joint and the first metatarsophalangeal joint (hereinafter referred to as metatarsophalangeal joint) of the two groups were scanned by ultrasonography. The number, distribution and ultrasonographic characteristics of gout stones were recorded. Results? There was significant difference in the distribution of gout stone cumulative joints between the two groups (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in the number of the gout stone accumulated joints site between the two groups (P>0.05). There were no significant differences in morphological and sonographic features of gouty stones between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion? GCKD patients are more likely to form multiple gout stones and have the tendency of multiple joint involvement. Ultrasound examination of joint gout stones is a more convenient means.
