Analysis of Retinopathy Related Factors in Type 2 Diabetic Residents in a Community of Dalat Banner

Abstract:Objective To analyze the risk factors of type 2 diabetic retinopathy in a community of Dalat Banner, Inner Mongolia. Methods From June to December 2018, the patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in a community in Dalat Banner were recruited for eye and systemic examinations, including visual acuity and fundus changes, and general information of patients and laboratory examinations were collected. Results A total of 351 patients with type 2 diabetes were examined, of which 89 (25.4%) had retinopathy. Regression analysis showed that the course of diabetes, systolic blood pressure and fasting blood sugar were closely related to the occurrence of retinopathy (P < 0.05). Conclusion Diabetic patients should control the relevant factors, keep routine ophthalmological examination, and early detect and early treat possible diabetic retinopathy.
