Evaluation of Ganciclovir and Acyclovir in the Treatment of Herpes Zoster

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the efficacy of ganciclovir and acyclovir in the treatment of herpes zoster. Methods A total of 94 patients with herpes zoster admitted to our hospital from July 2017 to December 2018 were randomly divided into acyclovir group (47 cases) and ganciclovir group (47 cases). Acyclovir group was treated with acyclovir and ganciclovir group was treated with ganciclovir, respectively. Results There were significant differences in skin lesion and pain assessment indicators between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Ganciclovir is more effective in the treatment of herpes zoster, and its effect time is relatively short. It can greatly shorten the course of treatment and speed up the recovery. It is worth popularizing and applying.
