Abstract:Objective? To explore the effect of cluster nursing on children with central venous catheter during maintenance period to prevent catheter complications except infection. Methods A total of 173 children with central venous catheter admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit of Dalian Children’s Hospital affliated to Dalian Medical University from June 2016 to December 2017 were selected as the control group, and central venous catheter was maintained by routine methods. A total of 118 children with central venous catheter from November to October of 2018 were selected as the observation group, and cluster nursing intervention was used for catheter maintenance. The complications of central venous catheter except infection between the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results The incidence of catheter obstruction, catheter displacement, exudation, skin red and rupture at puncture site and total complications in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Cluster nursing intervention can reduce the incidence of complications in children’s central venous catheter maintenance period except infection, which is worth popularizing.
