Effcacy and Safety of Montelukast Sodium Combined with Budesonide in the Treatment of Acute Attack of Bronchial Asthma in Adults

Abstract：Objective? To explore the effcacy and safety of montelukast sodium combined with budesonide in the treatment of acute attack of bronchial asthma in adults. Methods A total of 79 patients with acute attack of bronchial asthma admitted to the Department of Respiratory Medicine of Shenyang 201 Hospital from June 2017 to June 2018 were selected. The patients were divided into control group (36 cases) and observation group (43 cases) according to different medications. The control group was treated with routine Budesonide aerosol inhalation, while the observation group was treated with montelukast sodium orally on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 8 weeks as a course of treatment. After treatment, the therapeutic effect and adverse drug reactions of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate and improvement of pulmonary function in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group after treatment (P<0.05); there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion The combination of montelukast sodium and budesonide can effectively improve the therapeutic effect of acute attack of bronchial asthma, improve the lung function of patients, and has no significant increase in the incidence of adverse reactions. It is safe, effective, and deserved to popularized.
