Abstract:Objective? To observe the clinical effect of open reduction via posterior approach in the treatment of scapular fracture and summarize the experience. Methods A total of 41 cases of scapular fracture were collected from January 2014 to January 2017 in our hospital. They were treated by open reduction via posterior approach. The operation and recovery status were observed. Results All the 41 patients healed at first stage, the operation time was 80~150 minutes, the average time was (107.8±23.0) minutes; the blood loss was 120~330 mL, the average was (210.3±80.4) mL; the fracture healing time was 8~20 weeks, the average time was (15.3±6.7) weeks. After postoperative 1 year, Neer shoulder function score was excellent in 23 cases, good in 15 cases, qualified in 2 cases and poor in 1 case, the excellent and good rate was 92.68%. Conclusion Modified posterior approach for scapular fracture can achieve satisfactory functional recovery, even for complex scapular fracture.
