Abstract:Objective? To observe the clinical effects of canalicular incision combined with nasolacrimal intubation in treatment of canaliculitis. Methods A total of 48 cases (48 eyes) diagnosed as canaliculitis in our hospital from July 2014 to July 2017 were randomly divided into control group and study group, with 24 cases (24 eyes) for each group. In the control group, the lacrimal canal was cut parallel to the orbital skin 2 mm posterior to the lacrimal point with a sharp knife, the sulphur-like granules in the clean lumen were scraped with a spatula, the right amount of tobramycin dexamethasone ointment was injected and the incision were apposition sutured using 10-0 thread. In the study group: we cut the canaliculus parallel to the orbital skin 2 mm posterior to the lacrimal point with a sharp knife, scrape the sulphur-like granules in the clean lumen with a spatula, and insert the lacrimal duct into the lacrimal duct. The tube leads out and the lacrimal duct is ligated and placed under the nasal passage. An appropriate amount of tobramycin dexamethasone ointment was injected and the incision is sutured using 10-0 thread intermittently. Results The effective rate of the patients in the study group after treatment was 95.83%, and was significantly higher than 75.0%,in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The canalicular incision combined with nasolacrimal intubatio is effective for the treatment of canaliculitis, which is worthy of clinical application.
