Abstract:Objective? The diagnosis and treatment of distal humeral epiphysiolysis in children were analyzed in order to improve the cognition of clinicians to the disease, reduce the rate of misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis, and improve the prognosis of children. Methods The clinical data and follow-up results of 38 children with distal humeral epiphysiolysis admitted to Dalian Children’s Hospital from January 2011 to December 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. Results Among 38 cases, 23 cases were treated with open reduction and cross fixation with Kirschner wire, and 15 cases were treated with closed reduction with Kirschner wire and plaster external fixation. The recovery of elbow joint function after operation was excellent in 30 cases, good in 5 cases and middle in 3 cases. Conclusion The effect of anatomical reduction and internal fixation for distal humeral epiphysiolysis in children is ideal. Ultrasound and arthrography are helpful for the diagnosis of this disease.
