Abstract:Objective? To study the clinical efficacy of dendritic cells (DC) and cytokine-induced killer cells (CIK) combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer. ?Methods A retrospective analysis of 95 patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer in the stage B/IV were conducted, which were collected in our hospital from January 2014 to April 2016. All patients were divided into DC-CIK cell immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy group (combined group, 50 cases) and single chemotherapy (chemotherapy group, 45 cases). The difference in progression-free survival time (PFS) between the two groups was compared to evaluate the clinical efficacy of DC-CIK immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Results The objective response rate (ORR) and disease control rate (DCR) in combined group was 44.0% and 74.0%, respectively, and significantly higher than 24.4% and 53.5% in chemotherapy group (P=0.046 and P=0.036). The median PFS of combined group was 7.7 months, and the median PFS of the chemotherapy group was 6.4 months (P=0.092). Conclusion DC-CIK cell immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer had better DCR and ORR than the chemotherapy alone, and could be used as a first-line treatment option for patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
