Effect of Early Postoperative Functional Training for Functional Recovery of Knee Joint in Patients with Fracture around Knee Joint

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of early postoperative functional training on functional recovery of knee joint in patients with knee joint fracture. Methods From June 2015 to June 2017,a total of 152 patients with knee joint fracture who underwent surgical treatment in Siming Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University were divided into observation group(78 cases) and control group(74 cases) according to the time of functional training after operation. The control group received routine functional training after operation. The observation group received early functional training after operation, pain and psychological intervention. The range of motion(ROM) of knee joints was measured by common goniometer at 2,4,6 and 8 weeks after operation. The Lysholm score(LKSS) and Berg balance scale(BBS) of knee joint function were evaluated and compared at 3,6 and 12 months after operation. Results The postoperative ROM,LKSS and BBS scores of knee joints at different time points were significantly increased than pre-operation.The increase ranges in the observation group was significantly greater than those of the control group(P < 0.05).Conclusion The early postoperative functional training is recommended for patients with fracture around knee joint, which could effectively restore the range of motion of knee joint, and promote the recovery of knee joint function and lower limb motor function.
