Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of probiotics therapy in adjuvant treatment of antibiotic associated diarrhea (AAD) in children. Methods A total of 91 children with AAD from 2017 to 2018 were randomly divided into control group (46 cases) and observation group (45 cases). Both groups were given routine symptomatic treatment. The control group was given montmorillonite powder orally. The observation group was given bifidobacterium tetravaccine tablets on the basis of montmorillonite powder. The symptom scores and fecal colony counts were compared between the two groups after 10 days treatment. Results After 10 days treatment, there were significant differences in defecation frequencies, stool characteristics and total scores between the two groups (P<0.01), and there were also significant differences in fecal colony counts between the two groups (P<0.01). Conclusion The bifidobacterium tetravaccine tablets can effectively alleviate the symptoms of AAD in children and regulate intestinal flora, which is worthy of clinical application.
