A Comparative Study between Cemented and Non-cemented Hemiarthroplasty in the Treatment of Elderly Femoral Neck Fracture
JIAO Minghai
Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical effect of cement type and biological type (non-cement type) of hemiarthroplasty in treating senile femoral neck fracture. Methods A total of 133 elderly patients with femoral neck fracture admitted to our hospital from 2006 to 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. According to prosthesis types used in the operation, there were 62 cases in the cement group and 71 cases in the non-cement group. Hip function and treatment outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in Harris score at each time point between the two groups (P>0.05). There were significant difference in the incidence of joint pain and prosthesis looseness between the two groups (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of prosthesis fractures (P>0.05). Conclusion The cemented and non-cemented hemiarthroplasty have good effects in the treatment of senile femoral neck fracture, and the cemented hemiarthroplasty was slightly better than non-cemented hemiarthroplasty in incidence of joint pain and prosthesis looseness.
