Abstract:Objective To compare the therapeutic effects of minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis and interlocking intramedullary nail in the treatment of tibial fractures.MethodsOne hundred and three patients with closed tibial fractures admitted to Dandong Central Hospital from 2010 to 2014 were collected and divided into minimally invasive percutaneous plate ifxation group (MIPPO group) with 50 cases and interlocking intramedullary nail group (IMN group) with 53 cases. The ankle joint function recovery and complications of the two groups were compared.ResultsThere was no statistical signiifcance of the difference between the two groups in Kofoed score at each time point (P > 0.05). The rate of malunion and joint pain of MIPPO group was lower than that of IMN group, and the difference was statistically signiifcant (P < 0.05).ConclusionMinimally invasive percutaneous plate ifxation and interlocking intramedullary nail in the treatment of tibial fractures are approximately the same with regard to the therapeutic effect, but minimally invasive percutaneous plate ifxation is slightly better than the interlocking intramedullary nail in terms of complications.
