Abstract:Early gastric cancer (early gastric cancer, EGC) refers to gastric cancer limited to the mucosal layer or submucosal layer. In recent years, the detection rate of EGC in China has been increasing year by year. For patients with EGC who meet the indications, endoscopic resection has become a minimally invasive and effective standard treatment. It is widely accepted due to its ability to preserve gastric function to the greatest extent and significantly improve the quality of life of patients while ensuring the radical curability of the tumor. According to data from the Chinese Gastrointestinal Tumor Surgery Alliance, the proportion of EGC in gastric cancer in China increased from 19.7% to 20.9% between 2014 and 2017, with the proportion of endoscopic treatment at 24.3%, showing an annual increasing trend [1].
