Abstract:Incisional hernia is a type of abdominal wall hernia and an iatrogenic disease, abbreviated as incisional hernia. Incisional hernias vary in shape and have significant differences, with a complex classification system. Relevant research results show that the long-term outcomes of incisional hernia are much worse than those of inguinal hernia [1], especially the surgical treatment of large incisional hernias remains challenging and uncertain [2]. To improve the diagnostic and therapeutic level of incisional hernia in China, the Working Group of Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery of the Chinese Society of Surgeons, the Chinese Medical Association, jointly organized domestic experts to discuss and revise the 'Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Incisional Hernia (2018 Edition)' [1] item by item, and added some content, resulting in the 'Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Incisional Hernia (2024 Edition)'
