Abstract：Inguinal hernia is a common clinical disease. Research results show that more than 20 million inguinal hernia surgeries are performed worldwide each year. To ensure surgical quality and further standardize and improve the diagnosis and treatment level of inguinal hernia in China, the Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery Group of the Chinese Society of Surgery and the Expert Working Group on Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery of the Chinese Medical Association for Surgeons organized domestic experts to discuss, revise, and add some clauses based on the 'Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Adult Inguinal Hernia (2018 Edition)', forming the 'Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Inguinal Hernia (2024 Edition)' for reference and practice by clinical physicians.
