Abstract:The detection rate of thyroid nodules in the population is approximately 20% to 76%, among which malignant tumors account for 6% to 18%. Accurately determining the nature of the nodule is the basis for developing a rational treatment strategy [1]. Fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB), as a minimally invasive diagnostic technique, plays a crucial role in the precise diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases. To standardize and promote the application of FNAB technology, the Committee of Thyroid Surgeons of the Chinese Medical Association's Surgical Physicians Branch issued the 'Expert Consensus and Operating Guidelines for Ultrasound-Guided Fine-Needle Aspiration Biopsy of Thyroid Nodules' in 2018 [2]. In recent years, with the popularization and development of FNAB technology, its concepts and methods have been continuously updated, especially the application of combined molecular detection techniques, which has further improved diagnostic efficiency, significantly broadened its application scope and depth. The FNAB examination rate has become one of the key indicators for quality control of thyroid cancer medical care in China [3].
