Establishment and evaluation of quality control system for hepatectomy in hepatocellular carcinoma
CHEN Ya-jin
Abstract:Surgery-based comprehensive treatment is the primary mode of therapy for liver cancer at present.Due to the unique structure of the liver, hepatic resection for liver cancer is characterized by high technical complexity and risk.Given the unique complexity and inherent risks associated with liver cancer resection,it is crucial to ensure both perioperative safety and expedited recovery, all while aiming for optimal oncological outcomes. However, the challenges lie in the widespread adoption and standardized management of this intricate procedure, highlighting the pressing need to establish a specialized quality control management system for liver cancer resection in China. The process control of liver cancer resection includes preoperative assessment, surgical procedures and key techniques, postoperative monitoring, and rehabilitation.Outcome control includes perioperative mortality, complication rates, average length of hospital stay, unplanned reoperation rates, among others.Standardized and detailed process control is expected to yield favorable clinical outcomes. The refinement of quality control indicators for liver cancer hepatic resection will continue to improve with the development of precision minimally invasive techniques.
