Surgical hotspots of Annual Meeting of the American Thyroid Association in 2017

Abstract：The Annual Meeting of the American Thyroid Association (ATA) is the world's leading conference focused on treatment and research of thyroid disorders.The 87th Annual Meeting of ATA was held on October 18-22,2017 in Victoria,Canada.The conference invited leading experts from the whole world to present and share the latest excellence and innovation in diagnosis,treatment,basic and clinical research of the thyroid gland and its disorders.The contents related to thyroid cancer and surgery focused on the changing of strategies of thyroidectomy and lymph node dissection when patients' benefit and risk were considered.Other hotspots included evaluation and treatment strategies for indeterminate thyroid nodule cytology results (Bethesda Ⅲ,Ⅳ) and the application and development of molecular diagnostics.
