Recognition of advantages and disadvantages between tissue repair and mesh repair

Abstract：Hernia repair has developed for more than one hundred years and got great achievement.Tissue repair,a kind of classical operation,although with the disadvantage of high recurrence,is still popular in many hospitals.Mesh is a double-edged sword,which reduces tension in surgical site and recurrence as well as eases operative manipulation,however brings intractable infection,damage to organs and chronic pain in the other hand.It is caused by learning curve of surgeons and xenobiotic character of mesh.No matter tissue or mesh repair,hernial surgeons deserve training to recognize precise anatomy,standard manipulation and right mesh implantation.
