Abstract:The anatomy of inguinal region has been the focus of attention by surgeons, but there are still some controversies about the concept and understanding of anatomical structures.Transverse fascia is a acellular fascial structure from the view of embryology. The deep surface of fascial structure containing adipose tissue is preperitonealfascia (PPF),which is developed from the intermediate layer of mesenchyme.According to the characteristics of organ development which process involves covering with membranes, inguinal region can be divided into the region of umbilical bladder, the region of triangle of Doom and the region of iliac fossa. Each region has a different membrane structure. It's helpful for surgeons to recognize the anatomy of the inguinal membrane by regions.
