Abstract:Pancreatitis is the most common and serious com-plication of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Rectal non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (indomethacin or diclofenac) and pancreatic stents are effective preventions of post-ERCP pancreatitis. Optimal ERCP perioperative management (preoperative risk evalua- tion, intraoperative risk management, postoperative active treatment) can reduce PEP risk effectively.
