Efficacy of modified Appleby procedure in locally advanced pancreatic cancer

Abstract：Modified Appleby procedure used to show unsatisfying therapeutic effect in treatment for locally advanced pancreatic cancer. Along with applications of neoadjuvant therapy,advances of surgical techniques,and proper determination of excision extension,modified Appleby procedure improves R0 rate in locally advanced cancer in the body and tail of the pancreas,with a better long-term survival. Currently, the Appleby procedure should be performed in large pancreatic centers for carefully selected patients with preoperative multidisciplinary discussion.
