Evaluation of anal function and curative effect after sphincter preservation operation for low rectal cancer

Abstract:By reviewing the surgical development history of colorectal cancer,the goal which colorectal surgeons are always purser is more radical surgery,much higher rate of the sphincter preservation and much better anal function.With the innovation and progress of the theory,technique and instrument,the operation of rectal cancer become more tend to be accurate and individualization.More attentions are paid to the radical cure and functional protection for low rectal cancer surgery,and it also promotes the continuous improvement of sphincter preservation operation (SPO).Functions related factors associated with SPO include physiological,psychological,physical and time factors.All the factors will affect the functional outcome of the patient and affect the quality of life finally.Nowadays the problem for low rectal cancer with SPO is no longer can or not but is whether it should be.Fully assessing preoperatively is the way to give the individualized accuracy treatment to patients.
