Selection and evaluation of saphenous vein varicosity treatment

Abstract：s Saphenous vein varicose is common with an incidence about 50% in adults.It is also a sign of incompetence of vein in lower extremities.It can lead to some complications if untreated, including skin pigmentation, ulceration,superficial thrombophlebitis. For a long period of time,conventional open surgery is the'golden standard'for the treatment of varicosed veins.But in recent years,endovenous treatment has gained much progress and has the tendency to replace conventional surgery as the first choice for the treatment of varicosed veins.Although several trials have drawn the conclusion that endovenous treatment has the similar outcomes comparing to conventional open surgery, long-term results are yet to be proven by larger and longer database analysis.
