Abstract:Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) is the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract and occur in any part of the gastrointestinal tract. But the incidence of duodenal stromal tumors is very low. They usually occur in the middle aged and elderly people and clinical symptoms are unrepresentative. The early diagnosis is difficult and should combine abdominal CT, endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography, but depends on histopathology and immunohistochemistry finally. Surgical operation is the best effective treament of duodenal stromal tumors, including pancreaticoduodenectomy, subtotal gastrectomy, segmental duodenectomy and simple tumor resection, etc. The individualized, normative operation and adjuvant therapy of duodenal stromal tumors are according to the size, location, adjacent organs of tumors and their genetic test results.
