Therapeutic drug monitoring of plasma imatinib mesylate for the treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumor and prognosis

Abstract：Imatinib mesylate is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor recommended for treatment in patients with unresectable, metastastic and relapsing GIST as well as patients who have been identified with moderate or high risk of recurrence after receiving complete tumor resection. Imatinib plasma troughconcentration (Cmin) is significantly correlated with better clinical benefit when Cmin >1100μg/L. Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) for plasma imatinib is becoming a potential adjuvant therapy for GIST.
