Characteristics of biological behavior and strategies for small gastrointestinal stromal tumor

Abstract：In recent years, the detection rate of small gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is increasing. There is still lack of guidelines and consensus for the management of patients with small GIST at home and abroad. For the small GIST with diameter less than 2 cm, surgeons should make clinical strategies including follow-up, therapeutic endoscopy or surgical therapy based on clinical manifestation and biological behavior combined with malignancy risk level and individual differences to guarantee safety and radical therapy.
