Controversy and consensus on the diagnosis and treat-ment of Perioperative venous thromboembolism diseases

Abstract:Venous thromboembolism mainly refers to deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, is an important perioperative complications, seriously impair the outcome of surgery. There is always a lot of controversy on the diagnosis and treatment of perioperative venous thromboembolism. These include:the diagnostic value and reasonable application of D-dimer and ultrasonography; the selection, timing of administration and duration of treatment of anticoagulation;the indication of filter placement and thrombolytic therapy. More evidence-based medical data constantly amends previous diagnosis and treatment strategies, updated physicians ’diagnosis and treatment perspective. ACCP guideline has been playing a pivotal role in guiding the diagnosis and treatment on the perioperative thromboembolism.
