The definition and excision extension of standard pancre-atectomy and extended pancreatectomy-2013：interpre-tation of the International Study Group on Pancreatic Surgery by the consensus

Abstract：The characteristic of early metastasis in lymph node regards pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma as one of the highest malignant tumors all over the world. Complete macro?scopic tumor resection combined with standard lymphadenecto?my takes survival benefit for patients who suffer pancreatic cancer in recent years. However, there is a vigorous disagree?ment on selecting the excision extension and lymphadenecto?my between different study groups at present. Clear definition could hardly be found for the native clinicians. Hence, we sum?marize the definition of standard pancreatectomy, standard or extended lymphadenectomy formulated in a consensus of the International Study Group on Pancreatic Surgery.
