Diagnosis and treatment of cervical vascular injuries

Abstract：The recent literature concerning the epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment of cervical vascular injuries was extensively reviewed, and the research and development were summarized. A heightened awareness of blunt vascular injury had emerged. The diagnosis of cervical vascular injuries requires a combination of clinical and imaging features. Drug therapy requires more evidence-based medical support. In zone II situations favored open exploration over endovascular techniques in emergent situations, the endovascular therapy had become an important choice. Surgeons should pay more attention to the cervical vascular trauma. Endovascular therapy gets rapid development. But more researches on various therapies are needed to confirm their efficacy and safety.
