Prognosis of surgery for pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms:An analysis of 59 cases
Abstract:Objective To analyze the prognostic factors of pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (pNENs). Methods The clinical data of 59 case of PNEN received operation between March 1998 and March 2013 were analyzed retrospectively. Among them, 8 cases were operated in Baoshan Branch of Huashan Hospital, Fudan University, and 51 cases were operated in Huashan Hospital of Fudan University. The clinical factors related to prognosis were studied. Results Univariate analysis revealed liver metastasis, place of the tumor, histopathological grades,TNM staging and radical surgery were associated with prognosis. Multivariate analysis showed histopathological grades,TNM staging and radical surgery were independent risk factors of survival. Conclusion Surgical resection of PNEN results in long term survival. WHO classification,TNM staging, resection status are effective in predicting the prognosis of PNEN. Far metastasis and neural invasion usually predict poor prognosis.
