Standardization of diagnosis and treatment of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm

Abstract：A series of diagnostic and therapic guidelines on gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm (GEP-NENs) have been issued in recent years by several international academic society on neuroendocrine tumors. The guidelines play important roles in standardization of diagnosis and treatment of GEP-NENs. Clinical doctors ought to learn renewed knowledge of GEP-NENs in guidelines and realize the overall backward on the diagnosis and treatment of GEP-NENs in China. On the other hand,clinical doctors should verify the correctness and practicability of the guidelines, find out their shortcomings clinically, and formulate guidelines of China. Specific to shortcomings, related research could be performed with the advantage of more GEP-NENs cases in China for doctors to supplement and update the past edition of GEP-NENs guidelines, to improve the standardization of diagnosis and treatment of GEP-NENs in the long run.
