Analysis of methods for comfirmation of intraoperative diagnosis in 224 cases of pancreatic and peri-ampullary carcinoma.
Abstract：Objective To investigate the intraoperative confirmed diagnosis methods of pancreatic and peri-ampullar carcinoma.Methods Retrospective study of intraoperative confirmed diagnosis methods in 224 cases of pancreatic and peri-ampullar carcinoma was made. Results 166 cases aspiration cytology and needle biopsy were performed, 134 were positive (80.7%); 65 cases partial excision biopsy of tumor were performed, 60 were positive (92.3%); 26 cases biopsy of liver metastasis lesion were performed, all were positive;32 cases biopsy of lymph node were performed, 18 were positive(56.2%);10 cases bile juice cytology were performed, 4 were positive(40%); 8 cases curettage biopsy of biliary tumor were performed, 5 were positive(62.5%);7 cases intraoperative cholangio-endoscopy biopsy were performed, 5 were positive(71.4%).Conclusion Aspiration cytology and needle biopsy were the first choice of the intraoperative confirmed diagnosis methods in pancreatic and peri-ampullar carcinoma. Appropriate diagnosis method should be taken according to the tumor site and growth patterns.
