A clinical experience of treating groin hernia with the mesh & plug hernia repair(analysis of 256 cases).
Abstract：Objective To summarize the clinical experience (256 cases) of the mesh & plug repair of groin hernias.Methods 256 patients were treated by mesh & plug hernia repair with BardR Mesh & PerFixR Plug,C. R. Bard Inc.,from November 1997 to July 1999. The operative procedure, surgical indication, ability recovery, postoperative pain, complications,hospitalized period and recurrence rate were studied. Results The mesh & plug hernia repair had a greater advantage than the traditional hernia repair procedure, such as easier surgical performance, a wider surgical indication, less postoperative pain,quicker recovery,shorter period of hospitalization,fewer complications and lower recurrence. Conclusion It is currently the most popular choice for a convenient hernia repair procedure. It has been an outstanding method in treating groin hernia.
