Abstract：Pneumoconiosis refers to lung disease mainly characterized by diffuse fibrosis of lung tissue caused by the accumulation of inhalable particulate matter(usually＜5 μm in diameter)in the terminal bronchioles and alveoli.It is mainly caused by long-term occupational exposure.The irreversible pathological process of pneumoconiosis severely damages the respiratory system function of patients,resulting in a high labor disability rate.A large amount of evidence-based medical evidence has confirmed that large-volume lung lavage is one of the important treatment methods for pneumoconiosis.This method can remove harmful substances such as dust,inflammatory cells,cytokines,immune reaction products,and foreign bodies from the alveoli,bronchioles,and even the interstitial lung tissue,thereby preventing the progression of the disease,protecting lung function,and improving the clinical symptoms and quality of life of patients.Although this technique is widely used in clinical practice,there is still a lack of understanding of it,and the safety and effectiveness of the operation also need to be paid attention to.In order to facilitate the staff from various levels and types of occupational disease prevention and control institutions and medical and health institutions to improve their understanding of large-volume lung lavage for pneumoconiosis,the expert consensus on the treatment and management of large-volume lung lavage for pneumoconiosis has been specially compiled.
