Abstract:The incidence and mortality rates of colorectal cancer in China have been increasing annually, with marked urban-rural and regional disparities. In recent years, important progress has been made in early colorectal cancer screening, leading to the preliminary establishment of a screening model suitable for the national context. This model centers on a"two-step"screening strategy, which involves initial screening through risk assessment questionnaires, fecal immunochemical testing(FIT),and fecal DNA testing, followed by colonoscopy for high-risk populations. However, current screening efforts still face challenges such as low public compliance, uneven distribution of endoscopic resources, and an incomplete screening system. With the rapid development of non-invasive screening technologies, including blood and fecal biomarker testing, the capability for early colorectal cancer screening and initial risk stratification has significantly improved. In the future,by integrating the advantages of colonoscopy with new non-invasive technologies and establishing dynamic risk assessment models and multi-dimensional screening systems, the efficiency of early screening will be further enhanced, and the rate of missed diagnoses will be reduced. This will provide crucial support for achieving high-quality development in the"early screening, early diagnosis, and early treatment"of colorectal cancer.
