Abstract:Most critically ill patients need to be treated in bed, especially those with mechanical ventilation. After bed rest, the body's function declines, which is what we often say the ICU-acquired weakness. Once the ICU-acquired weakness is formed, even if the patient gets better and moves out of ICU, the decline may also last for a long time. The nature of ICU-acquired weakness is the decline of neuromuscular function caused by various factors, which leads to the decrease of immune function and the decrease of anti-inflammatory ability, aggravating the development of the disease. Early rehabilitation training can effectively delay or reduce the speed of neuromuscular degeneration, and win the opportunity for treating the whole body.
