Abstract:Primary Sj(o)gren's syndrome (pSS) and primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) have many similar characteristics, with often coexist in the same patient. In recent years, the important role of environmental and infectious factors in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases gets more attention.Epstein-Barr virus(EBV),cytomegalovirus(CMV),Escherichia coli,Helicobacter pylori and other infectious factors may be involved in the pathogenesis of pSS and PBC by activating the IFN pathway and molecular analogue pathways.Inhibiting the expression of viral genes and related antigens in the body may provide a new strategy of treatment.
