Commentary on "Consensus Report on Noninvasive Positive Pressure Ventilation"

Abstract：Consensus report on noninvasive positive pressure ventilation(NPPV) by Exports Panel of Respiratory Physiology and Critical Care, Respiratory Society of Chinese Medical Association depicted the indications and contra-indications of NPPV through the aspects of general indications, application in different etiologies and dynamic decision(trial and evaluation) strategy. The application procedure,selection of ventilator and accessory,ventilation mode selection and parameters setting,infection control procedure as well as equipment safety were described in detail. The important issues related to successful application of NPPV were also addressed in detail in the consensus report. It is a clinically oriented and practical consensus report that will be helpful for clinical practice.
