Abstract:The reconstruction of alveolar bone defects in edentulous areas presents a significant challenge in dental im-plant restoration. In cases of severe alveolar bone defects, the selection of bone augmentation techniques can considerably influence the outcomes of both hard and soft tissue reconstruc-tion,even the optimal three-dimensional positioning of the im-plant and the final restoration results. In recent years, the rap-id advancement of digital oral modeling technology and 3D printing has enabled the widespread use of 3D-printed indi-vidualized titanium mesh(3D-PITM)in managing severe alve-olar bone defects. The article explores the clinical consider-ations regarding the current application of 3D-PITM,its influ-encing factors, and key operative techniques, aiming to pro-vide novel diagnostic and therapeutic insights for the recon-struction of severe alveolar bone defects.
