Research progress on the application of artificial intelligence in endodontics

Abstract：In recent years,artificial intelligence has been extensively utilized in the research of stomatology.Endodon-tics,as a significant branch of stomatology,has incorporated artificial intelligence in multiple aspects,such as tooth im-age segmentation,structure recognition,disease diagnosis,adjunctive treatment,and prognosis prediction,which has achieved satisfactory outcomes.Dentists have not only enhanced clinical work efficiency and reduced the workload but al-so improved the accuracy of diagnosis,which facilitates the customization of more reasonable treatment regimens for pa-tients.Therefore,the advent of artificial intelligence may potentially serve as a significant impetus for the advancement of endodontics.Despite the broad application prospects of artificial intelligence in endodontics,several technical and ethi-cal issues still need to be addressed prior to its widespread application in clinical practice.This article reviews the appli-cation and limitations of artificial intelligence in endodontics.
