Abstract:Medical gas molecules can easily penetrate cell membranes without metabolic residues, and exhibit significant antioxidant,anti-apoptotic,anti-tumor,anti-bacterial,and cell signaling effects, which are widely used in the treatment of a variety of diseases.Scholars in the field of stomatology have also introduced molecular hydrogen into the treatment of oral diseases, and it has shown certain therapeutic and preventive effects.Molecular hydrogen can effectively improve pregnancy gingivitis,periodontitis,peri-implantitis,post-radiotherapy and post-chemotherapy injuries and maxillofacial neuralgia, inhibit the growth of tumor cells, and promote the healing of maxillofacial wounds. This article summarizes the research progress in ex vivo and in vivo studies and clinical trials on the role of molecular hydrogen in the treatment of oral diseases, with a view to provide ideas for the clinical research and treatment of hydrogen medicine and the treatment of related oral diseases.
