Abstract：Endocrowns are increasingly used in restorative dentistry because of their advantages of less tooth preparation,good esthetic effect,and shorter treatment time,but their wide application is limited by shortcomings such as poor reten-tion which results in a high rate of long-term failure of restorations.A well-designed retention form can enhance the re-tention effect of restorations.The article provides a review of the retention form design of endocrown and its effect on the fracture resistance of the tooth,which will provide a reference for the design and preparation of retention forms of endo-crowns.
