Research advancements in surgical combined treatment in orthodontic therapy

Abstract：Orthodontic treatment aims to achieve balance,stability,and aesthetics of the craniofacial system by adjusting the coordination between facial bones,teeth,and the neuromuscular system.In addition to traditional and functional or-thodontics,surgical interventions are employed in complex orthodontic cases.These interventions primarily include the implantation of temporary skeletal anchorage devices,corticotomy,and orthognathic surgery.This article provides a com-prehensive review of the research progress in indications,techniques,and therapeutic outcomes of commonly used surgi-cal combined procedures in clinical orthodontic treatment,offering valuable insights for clinicians.
