Research progress of customized post-and-cores fabricated with digital technology

Abstract：The post-and-core is a widely accepted method to restore endodontically treated teeth with compromised tooth structure.Currently,cast metal post-and-core systems and prefabricated fiber posts combined with composite resin cores are the most frequently options in dental clinical practice,but both also come with advantages and limitations.The development of customized post-and-cores fabricated with digital technology represents one of the significant trends in the advancement of dentistry.This review provides an overview of the material compositions,fabrication methods,proper-ties and related research progress pertaining to customized post-and-cores fabricated with digital technology,aiming to provide reference for clinical dentists to formulate more comprehensive restoration regimen.
