Research progress of root canal irrigation techniques and irrigation agent

Abstract：Root canal irrigation is a crucial step in root canal treatment,which aims to clean the bacteria and residues in-side the root canal and create good conditions for root canal filling and closure.The commonly used root canal irrigation techniques include mechanical irrigation,ultrasonic irrigation,acoustic irrigation,laser assisted root canal irrigation and negative pressure irrigation,etc.In order to improve the effectiveness of root canal irrigation,root canal irrigation tech-niques have been continuously upgraded,and new root canal irrigation agents have been developed,such as compound root canal irrigation agents,natural plant extracts and nanoparticles.This article reviews the research progress of root ca-nal irrigation techniques and irrigation agents,aiming to provide new ideas for improving the effect of root canal irrigation and increasing the success rate of root canal treatment.
