Abstract:Compared to conventional complete denture,complete-arch implant-supported restoration provides improved fixation and stability, enhancing the masticatory efficiency of patients.Passive fit of the upper structure is critical to long-term success, which is closely related to impression accuracy. The main impression methods for complete-arch implant-supported restorations include conventional impression methods and digital impression methods. With the continuous de-velopment of digital technology, digital impressions are increasingly employed in edentulous patients due to their advan-tages of simplifying the impression-taking process and facilitating communication and design,as well as improving pa-tient comfort;however, the accuracy of the impression remains uncertain. This article reviews the impression methods for complete-arch edentulous patients and some factors affecting the impression accuracy, aiming to increase clinicians'lev-el in impression of edentulous implant-supported restoration.
