Research advance of machined composite materials

Abstract：Glass ceramics has become the main porcelain materials clinically used for repairing posterior teeth because of its excellent mechanical performance and aesthetic effect.Because ceramics are brittle materials,tiny cracks and surface defects produced in the process of cutting and clinical operation will cause the breaking of restored teeth in the future,and the abrasion to natural tooth is heavier.However,while composite resin has a certain buffer effect on stress,in recent years,composite materials have received more and more attention,because they combine the excellent mechanical and aesthetic characteristics of ceramic with toughness of resin materials at the same time.The current research on the performance of composite materials is still inadequate.This article will make a review on the properties of the composite materials.
